The Path Forward = Women (Innovation + Entrepreneurship)

Welcome to the Path Forward Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.  Julie Lenzer Kirk and Renee Lewis created this non-profit organization to house and expand the ACTiVATE Program, a year-long program for women who want to start businesses based on technology or intellectual property.

We both taught the program for many years, supporting more than 200 women-led business ventures, and made some amazing relationships along the way.  As we closed out 2014, we realized that the void that existed when we began in 2010 no longer exists, and our personal paths have gone in different directions where we can no longer dedicate sufficient time to ACTiVATE to continue expanding it nationally.

As such, we’ve returned our ACTiVATE license to UMBC who owns the intellectual property for the program along with all the know-how for our “secret sauce” on which ACTiVATE is now based.  If you’re interested in the program, it lives on but no longer under the Path Forward Center.

To all our Alumi community – you know where to find us. Do keep in touch and never hesitate to reach out should you need anything.  And, you know we love your updates!

To all our potential Alums, please contact UMBC directly to know more about how YOU can experience one of the best entrepreneurial programs on the planet!

Most importantly, thank you to our Board (Linda Burger, Mary MacPherson, and Sue Todd) for all your support, thoughtful advice and ideas through the years.  We would not have achieved the success we did without you.

Whoo Hoo!

Julie and Renee
